Role summary
The Insights Team is central to everything we do at Battenhall, delivering social media audits, strategy, reporting, research, social listening and audience intelligence.
The Insights Manager role will primarily focus on delivering insights and reports for one key sporting client, working with the Account Handling team to deliver these on time and to the best of our abilities. The Insights Manager will also work on a small number of ad-hoc projects including new business opportunities.
This role includes the management of key project workflows, leading on the delivery of our reporting, and being hands-on with day-to-day activities such as providing insights solutions for client briefs, bringing strategies and campaigns to life from the data, insights and analytics, and working closely with teams from Account Handling, Innovation, to Paid Media and Design.
Responsibilities
Insights Manager’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Research and reporting, such as collecting, analysing, and interpreting data and insights from various sources to uncover trends, patterns, and consumer sentiment. This will include creating and managing regular performance reports (e.g. campaign, weekly, monthly and quarterly reports) for clients which inform current activity and future direction.
- Responsible for overseeing the delivery of projects on time, managing them alongside senior leads, and supporting juniors on delivering the work.
- Management of relevant tasks such as advanced data manipulation or visualisation working closely with our Innovation team.
- Help manage social media audits, delving into industry and brand activity to assess strengths and weaknesses, and identify opportunities for retained clients and projects.
- Working with senior team members to make strategic recommendations across projects, including creation of KPIs to help guide our clients’ activity.
- Social listening: set up searches and analyse online conversation to inform campaigns, strategies, and ongoing content creation.
- Behavioural insights: analyse social media audiences and behavioural insights, identify shifts in behaviours and trends.
- Monitoring online crises and issues via detection, setting up alerts, ongoing monitoring, and analysis of the conversation with a proficient set up of listening queries.
- Storytelling: deliver compelling narratives and present visually engaging presentations and reports that successfully convey results, insights and recommendations.
- Influencer and key voice identification: using tools, platforms and social listening to find key individuals to support campaigns and objectives.
- Help scope out new insights projects for existing clients, and work with senior team members on new business opportunities.
- Demonstrate your expertise and knowledge of social media by sharing the latest industry trends and updates.
Key skills
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a social media, digital comms, insights specialist agency, or working in a relevant department in-house.
- Experience of a wide range of social media platforms, including, LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, X, YouTube, Pinterest, TikTok, and Reddit.
- Experience of working in data analysis and research, with strong quantitative and qualitative insights skills, including organic and paid social data analysis, creative analysis and desk research.
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, Queries) to manage data.
- Experience in building sophisticated prompts for AI for use across data sets, using critical thinking to review outputs.
- A strong interest in or knowledge of sports, sports apparel, and accessories.
- Benchmarking and KPI creation, setting targets for future performance.
- Experience of using mixed methodologies to deliver work including, audience analysis, and the creation of effective questionnaires, and facilitating focus groups with confidence and expertise.
- Experience in using social listening and social media management tools such as Meltwater, Khoros, Sprinklr, Sprout or Brandwatch.
- Confident in your abilities, able to share knowledge with the wider team, and develop your specialist skills.
- You will need to demonstrate outstanding verbal English, written, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- You will need to manage scopes, timelines, resourcing and client budgets.
- You will have strong interpersonal skills virtually and in-person.
- You will need excellent attention to detail.
- You will need to demonstrate the ability to work to deadlines and meet the demands of teams and clients, without compromising on quality.
- Work both independently and as part of a team, helping to identify improvements to ways of working where appropriate.
- Ability to work across multiple global accounts at the same time.
- A bonus if you have any SQL or programming experience.
